Dotting the Great Lakes are 32,000 islands that “nobody knows about,” yet form the largest collection of freshwater islands on Earth. In this class, you will learn what makes an island special and enjoy a lake-by-lake survey of the islands and archipelagos in U.S. and Canadian waters. You’ll view photographs and videos and learn the unique characteristics of islands in each lake, including fish, wildlife, plants, lighthouses and shipwrecks.
