A new Great Lakes islands series, designed to be taken individually or two or more, that explore one important island per lake. Each class will include videos and photographs of key features of each island such as lighthouses, shipwrecks, fish and wildlife and mineral resources plus overview of each lake. Also included will be Native American, First Nation and Euro-American exploration and settlement. Travel information, handouts, books, memoirs, and other resources will be shared. 

Come and discover the features of the largest freshwater island in the world! We will cover the First Nations history and settlements, globally rare alvar plant communities, and the physical diversity of the shoreline of this Lake Huron island.
