Explore various colored pencil techniques to create vivid "paintings."  Learn color mixing, layering, blending, shading, creating textures, composition and more. You may also choose to combine other mediums, such as watercolors, pastels, and ink with colored pencils. We will use professional-grade colored pencils in class. The instructor will also demonstrate Pan Pastels, water-soluble pencils, and water-soluble wax pastels with various drawing surfaces in class. You can use various papers, including Bristol Vellum, drafting film and pastel papers, in this class.

Please read:  Required supplies: 11" x 14" Stonehenge Paper or Strathmore Bristol Vellum; tracing paper, 2B graphite pencil, pencil sharpener, Prismacolor kneaded eraser, professional grade colored pencils such as Prismacolor Premier, Derwent Coloursoft, and Faber Castell Polychromos , or Caran d'Ache . *Optional supplies will be discussed in class.
