« back to classes page
ClassGraphic This richly illustrated class will introduce you to the fascinating life of the Aztecs, their art, everyday life and religion.  You will understand how the now controversial practice of human sacrifice was integrated and justified by the worldview of the Aztecs.  Large temples attest to the great fear and respect the Aztecs held for their bloodthirsty gods.   We will study the layout of these temples, and how this culture came to an abrupt end with the invasion of Cortes and his Spanish conquistadors.
