« back to classes page
CourseGraphic This one day course is designed for licensed, experienced riders to enhance their riding skills and help with personal risk assessment for street riding. Range exercises and interactive classroom exercises are designed to help you hone your street riding and crash avoidance skills. You will learn to improve braking and corner finesse. This is the public version of the Military Sport Bike Rider Course.

Eligibility
  • Must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver license with a motorcycle operator endorsement.  This is not a licensing class.
  • Must be an experienced street rider with good riding skills, including starting, stopping, shifting and turning, on the bike that you will ride in class. You will not be allowed to continue in the range exercises if you do not demonstrate adequate riding skills or become a hazard to yourself or others, and, no refund will be given or transfer made.
  • Must provide a street legal, licensed and insured two-wheeled motorcycle. A two-wheeled scooter that is licensed by the State of Michigan as a motorcycle is acceptable. Scooters and cycles licensed by the State as mo-peds are not acceptable. See the Motorcycles section below for additional information.
Motorcycles
You must provide your own street legal, license plated, two-wheeled motorcycle and show registration and proof of insurance. If the motorcycle isn’t registered in your name, you must have the owner’s written permission to ride the motorcycle in this class. Each student must provide a motorcycle. Students may not share a motorcycle in this class. WCC does not provide a motorcycle for a student to ride in this class.

Motorcycles must be in good condition to be ridden in this class, including good tires with proper inflation, running well, and with an adequate battery and fuel to get through the class.  No refund will be given or transfer made if the instructor determines that the motorcycle is in poor condition or if it becomes unsafe or non-functional during class.

Liability Waiver

You will sign the class liability waiver at the start of the class.

If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian MUST come to the start of the class to sign the liability waiver in person. If your parent or legal guardian does not come to the start of the class to sign the waiver then you will not be allowed in class and no refund will be given or class transfer made.  It is your responsibility, if you are less than 18 years old, to verify that your parent or legal guardian is available to come to the start of the class to sign the liability waiver in person.  We recommend that you verify this before you register for a class.

Attendance
You must be in the classroom at the class start time.

If you truck or trailer your motorcycle to WCC, it should be unloaded before the class starts.  Bring whatever ramps, tie-downs and help that you need to unload and load and secure your motorcycle into your truck or trailer

If you arrive at your class after the class start time, or are not ready to begin class activities at the class start time, you will not be allowed in class that day and no refund will be given or class transfer made.

Contacting WCC to tell us that you will be late to class does not change the requirement to be in the classroom and ready to begin class activities at the class start time.
