CourseGraphic Learn how to paint roses from bud to blossom in 3 different ways. We will refer to photos and real flowers as we draw and paint them. The teacher will demo styles and techniques to make these lovely blooms easier.

Notice

Please read:  Basic watercolor paints : Useful colors include cadmium red, alizarin crimson or permanent rose, cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, sepia, ultramarine blue, and phlalo or prussian blue, and dioxazine violet. Palette: One with wells for individual colors is extremely useful, it's important to have a tray where you can mix colors- that can be as simple as a white plate Brushes: A 'round' brush, a flat or angled flat brush, and a detail/liner brush Sizes: Medium sized (~size 8 give or take a size or two = 1/2 for the flat), -bring what you have. Watercolor paper: 140# cold press, though as long as it is watercolor paper (and not drawing paper) - it's fine. We usually use 9x12 or larger. Pencil & eraser Optional: a rag or paper towels are helpful, a sponge, watercolor pencils, scrap paper for sketching out ideas, painters tape (the blue or green stuff), masking fluid
